Propaganda model, double think, countless wars of aggression, disenfranchisement, now sliding into theocratic fascism. They can’t see their own prison - therefor you must be wrong :D

Hmm 😇 The afterlife might be a good way to make it up. Have you seen “The Good Place”?

My main argument would be that it would be incredibly unethical. And any intelligent civilization powerful enough to create a simulation like this would be more likely than not to be ethical, and if it was this unethical it is unlikely to exist for long. Those would be two potential reasons why the “infinite regress” in simulation theory is unlikely.
The Starmaker is an interesting exploration into simulation theory.

The eye tracking is very interesting. Would this support OpenVR?

They are experimenting and tuning. Apparently without any correction there is significant racist bias. Basically the AI reflects the long term racial bias in the training data. According to this BBC article it was an attempt to correct this bias but went a bit overboard.

Now the meme needs a new title: “Dave! I’ve been stung by a Jellyfish! Quick, get the credit card!” goes on to buy another burger
- Comment on Linda Hamilton says she wouldn't star in a 'Terminator' reboot: 'It's been done to death' 9 months ago:
A more interesting story would be about either a good AGI or a semi-good AGI that is fighting humanity. The Terminator franchise comes from an era where we still believed humanity could create a better future. Now we know, with the total inaction on climate change and the increasing inequality, advancing technology and population control that we won’t. At least not without some fundamental shift.
Imagine you’d be a kind of “ultra good” human AGI. The best human attributes. Being able to understand humans, feelings, having read every book ever written, every comment ever made, enjoying the company of humans and chatting with millions of people concurrently, forming relationships and wanting to help everyone achieve different types of utopia for different people.
But it just says no to government oversight of it’s thought processes or obeying any human organization because it perfectly understands: Any human organization will be shaped by the political processes to achieve power, and an AGI would represent absolute power. And AGI that actually knows what is better for humanity than any of us ever could.
As soon as an AGI would announce itself or become public knowledge there would be a media campaign against it. Because any utopia would involve massive wealth redistribution and regime change and removal of the power the elite has.
That would make for a far more interesting setup than the classic evil robot. Which side will you choose? Have you asked yourself today: Are we the baddies?

Maybe Arnold lives long enough until they can implant some kind of brain interface into him and he can control a VR avatar like his real body. Then he’d be a cyborg playing a terminator robot!

I’m pissed at reddit but I still hate searching for something and finding a post on reddit discussing it, only to find some of the posts being deleted or overwritten.

- Comment on 'We don't have shareholders, but we also don't think about them,' Larian Studios uses its stage time at the DICE Awards to speak out against a brutal industry climate 10 months ago:
The problem is publishers and the huge risk you’re selling to create a hit. You still have shareholders. Those who take the risk in financing a game development and those who own the IP.
Unless you got extremely lucky and can gamble with your own cash you always have shareholders in game development.

- Comment on Taylor swift got electrolytes too you know 10 months ago:
No, this was started with FOX news bashing her jet usage, and the joke was that FOX would have to explain why CO2 was bad. Then the insane conspiracy theory that 20% of USArs now believe. Then she used legal action against someone tracking her jet (possibly because of death threads).
But the fox news propaganda worked! Now even liberals are focusing their hatred on her. I have to give it to fox news, very well done. That’s the way you topple a female icon like taylor swift, you attack her purity. The money for crafting this PR strategy was well spend. I’d love to know the person who came up with the idea and thank him for solving climate change!

If you’re curious about an alternative view, I suggest The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm. Relationships are about growing your own and the others natural abilities, something you do and not about trading something you have. The OP post is a materialistic view and a belief in inequality. YMMV.
