That’s funny! I’m not in the top 100 thankfully but the most common crime is assault :0/

Anyone see this comment on the other DT yesterday? “Unpopular opinion but I think the daily thread is better post mass exodus of former regulars” How rude! lol

I did not know that! I just read something about him using Melbourne as his base. Doing a gig in Moorabbin makes more sense now!

Going to see Arj Barker tonight. Surprised at the choice of venue for an international comedy superstar - Moorabbin Arts Centre - but looking forward to it :)

My Win 11 laptop keeps trying to force me to try ‘New Outlook’ instead of the default Mail app. I’d do it, but currently Mail is an aggregate for multiple email account for my small biz and I can’t risk stuffing them all up migrating the accounts

On the topic of Tolkien, this morning I was going through some old books that were still in boxes from moving house last year. Found a copy of The Adventures of Tom Bombadill which I’ve had for decades, I remember my grandmother used to read it to me when I was a kid in the 70’s. Well, it turns out that this little hardback is a first edition print from 1962 (UK release) and some are selling online for $700+, one seller had a copy up for $1100!
No plans to sell it, but I should probably take a bit more care with it :)

Not OP, but chiming in re: the slow release…I’m on 70mg Vyvanse which seems to keep me going throughout the day. I asked the doc about Dexys and he said I shouldn’t need them for a top up

We’ve got tickets for Stephen K Amos tonight, he’s at the Kingston Arts Centre in Moorabbin. Should be good. Food and drinks somewhere before, maybe the new American BBQ and burger joint Third Wave Cafe if we can get in.

After years on pre-paid, I got a new phone on a plan yesterday. The initial setup went smoothly, settings and security all good , but I’ve spent the whole morning (and most of last night actually) having to re-login and setup most of my apps again. Thank dog for password managers, I would have been stuffed if I had to try and remember them all or rely on various scribbled post-it notes. What watch do you have?

The toll one is odd, I never got that particular one until I made a rare and very short trip (like one junction) on Eastlink a couple of weeks ago. I’ve had five scam texts since then. If you go on the Eastlink website there’s a big red ‘priority alert’ warning at the top of the page, so they’re obviously aware of it, but it seems to me that their system is compromised somehow.

A year since moving house and we’re still unpacking things from the non-essentials. I just found a ‘cat self-groomer’, brand new still in its box…must have been a gift from someone. It has a compartment to put catnip in! Waiting for lazy cat to wake up and give it a try :)

Do you/did you use any cessation aides or methods in particular? I’m close to trying to quit - the rolling tobacco I used to get for about five quid back in the UK (around $10 aud) is now over $90 here for a smaller pouch. Vaping isn’t for me I don’t think. Anyway, good luck with it.

Wise words friend, our overflowing gutters kept waking us up during last night. Looks like one of them has rusted through as well.

Anyone Bayside/SE burbs smell that smoke in the air? I know it was forecast to be a foggy start to the day, but it has this weird aroma to it and our air purifier is going nuts.

Hey! Thanks CEO.
So we’re four days into a ten-day visit to South Australia. First two days were in the CBD and I have to say that whilst the hospy folk are friendly, the general population are indifferent and rude…no spatial awareness or common street courtesy at all. They will literally walk into you rather than give way a little to avoid a collision. Had one oblivious guy carrying an open umbrella down low and so focussed on his phone that he pushed us into oncoming traffic. Twat.
Took a tram to Glenelg, which is basically SA’s St. Kilda and everything you’d expect it to be.
An hour’s drive to the Barossa yesterday. We’re in Tununda and had lunch at Maggie Beer’s pheasant farm eatery. Great spot, lots of birds to check out in a kind of mini zoo, but at $90pp for what was essentially a menu of various cabbage and lettuce leaves, a chuck of homemade bread, carrot puree and a smidge of a lamb or chicken slices, I did feel it was a bit of a rip off and profiteering based on her brand.
We’re off to McClaren Vale in the morning, then finishing off with two days on Kangaroo Island, then homeward bound. I thought that SA had a rep for decent weed but we’ve found nothing, so looking forward to our small stash at home next week :)

We had a 7-hour power outage yesterday afternoon, along with 1500 other homes, all because someone a bit further down the street released a helium-filled metallic balloon which floated up to the power lines and blew them up. All credit to the fire service who arrived quickly to secure the scene, and also to the United Energy crews who turned up with three massive cherry-picker trucks to thread it all back together again.
In better news, Groundhog Day: The Musical was fantastic, highly recommended. It’s surpassed Wicked as my favourite theatre musical of all time. The sets, the humour, the cast…just brilliant.

This is Clyde, one half of the local pair with Bonnie. Been visiting us for years and always bring their juvenile offspring to meet us.

Our old OC manager was an absolute stickler for the rules, to the point where I stopped going to the AGMs in person because it would just drag on for hours. His replacement is a bit more casual but still does things by the book. To answer your question, they should absolutely be communicating with you and the rest of the OC. Check the responsibilities here: …vic.gov.au/…/what-is-an-owners-corporation

Take care mate. I’ve never knowingly had it, but your posts got me thinking about the last booster I had. I could have sworn it was last year, but according to MyGov/Medicare the last was actually June 2022. I’ll be hitting up the local Amcal later for some sweet Bivalent action.

Colombian marching powder :) I don’t want to hijack your story, but let’s just say that a long time ago, back in the UK, someone said that exact phrase to me and it started a chain of events that ultimately lead to me sitting here now, in Melbourne, typing this reply.
