It’s thought the anus evolved approximately 550 million years ago. One theory says it evolved from an opening originally used to release sperm which fused with the gut. This would mean nuts might have been going in butts for as long as butts have existed.

I meant the character itself (the way it is drawn) is a combination of long s and regular s. But, you’re right.
Also, the Wikipedia page says a capital ß is actually occasionally used. You learn something every day, I guess.

Ok. It’s time for unsolicited German facts.
The ß or “esset” (also known as “scharfes s” or “sharp s”) is actually the combination of the old long s (ſ) and a regular s.
ſ + s = ſs = ß
Isn’t that neat? It’s also worth noting that no words start with ß, and it is lower-case only. If you need to write a word with an ß in all caps, replace it with a double s.

You cannot change a pokemon game’s language in the middle of a playthrough. This is because a breeding pair of Pokemon with different language origins have a higher chance to breed with each other (it’s supposed to motivate you to trade online).
If you wanna change your language, you’re gonna have to wipe your save and start over.
