- Comment on How would one exit a black hole? 1 week ago:
I love how mind bending it is imagining what lies inside a black hole. Everything we know about physics essentially goes right out the window beyond the event horizon.
- Comment on How would one exit a black hole? 1 week ago:
I would assume that anything that lies within the photon sphere could never have a stable orbit. The photon sphere is the point that light itself orbits the black hole and its 1.5x the radius of the blackhole itself. Anything closer to the singularity than this boundry is doomed to fall into the singularity as it would require faster than light speeds to maintain any stable orbit.
- Comment on How would one exit a black hole? 1 week ago:
Well, there’s the hypothesis of a “naked singularity” whereas if enough charge or spin could be added to a black hole, the event horizon, aka, the black part of a black hole, could just vanish. This would expose the singularity at its center but its just a hypothesis. Or better yet, a thought experiment at best. This wouldn’t eliminate its mass though.
- Comment on How would one exit a black hole? 1 week ago:
Literally, impossible. To exit the event horizon of a black hole, you’d have to travel faster than the speed of light. We know for a fact that anything with mass cannot travel at the speed of light. (And anything without mass MUST travel at the speed of light) Once you cross the event horizon, you’ve been entirely and irreversibly separated from the rest of the universe.
- Comment on How would one exit a black hole? 1 week ago:
With super massize black holes, you could pass the event horizon and not even know it. To you, everything would remain relatively (no pun intended) comfortable. You could live for a couple days, falling towards the singularity before the gravitational gradient becomes enough to rip you apart, thus ending your life.

Yeah sure. It also says we are supposed to be stewards of the earth and take care of each other as if we are brothers and sisters. Yet they push legislation to destroy the earth under our “biblical” care and treat others like criminals and garbage. But please go on with your corperate bullshit. The Bible says not to take the lords name in vein. That doesn’t mean shouting “god fucking damnit” when you stubborn your pinky toe. I means using your diety as the reason for entirely unbiblical bullshit. So, basically, go fuck yourself dude.

LET. YOUR. KID. KEEP. THE. DAMN. GIFT.
If you take it away, the damage you may cause to you and yours sons relationship will FAR exceed the value of a phone.
Also, and I’m not saying this as an insult, it sounds like this is less about a phone, and more about pride. You didn’t get your kid an expensive phone so him having it is a reminder his best friend’s patents can afford what you cannot. Maybe tell your child that they are so loved in this world by others that they want him to be blessed by gifts he wouldn’t otherwise have. Show him he’s a valuable person who has earned such a nice gesture because of who he is and what he means to others. Make sure he doesn’t take such a kind action for granted.
But please, let your boy keep the gift. Him having it means way more than it does to you giving it back.

You’d have to be a fool to not atleast give it a try. Besides, it’s “uh” date. You’re not committing to anything beyond a cup of coffee and a graceful retreat at worst, to at best, a fun night running around town with a new younger friend with whom you get along. Get in there, homie!

And to add the cherry on top, should you ever reach his arbitrary speed limit, it distorts time itself. Even if you flew through space at c for a little weekend getaway, you’d return to a now foreign world only to find time had skipped forward +2,000 years, your entire family and social circles long dead from old age with societal and technical advancements beyond what you could have ever thought possible, completely isolating you. You’re now doomed to live in an unfamiliar world where not a single human speaks your language nor can they relate to you in any meaning way.
AKA, gods speeding ticket.

I think they mean the nature and true goal of higher education is not to educate, but is singularly profit and more and more peofiy each and every semestee. Profit above all else but hopefully, but not nessecary whatsoever, an institutions shamefully underpaid and overworked staff has the time or energy to properly teach the next generation their area of expertise.
Higher education wants $$$ and they know the government and private corporations will issue about any 18 year old kid, fresh out of high school who has been pressued their entire childhood to either go to college or be a homeless prostitute, massive and insanely high interest.
It’s to take from you and burden you with debt that can’t be undone, even in the event of personal bankruptcy. Why would this system give money away when they can loan it out for an abusive & permanent high interest loan that would make even a gambling addict blush?

Seriously, the top left looks like a young Mos Def. This album came out in 1994 and his first album came out in 1999. BUT in 95’, he was in this group that did an album called “Manifest Destiny.”

I quite a pack a day habit 12 years ago and one of the first things I noticed when my sense of taste and smell returned was how aweful smokers smelled when they’d walk into a building after a cigarette. I had thought the smell was off me within maybe 10 minutes but I found out quick that the smell never really goes away. Feels like a previous life thinking I smoked because I can’t see myself ever smoking even a single cig for the rest of my life because it’s so revolting to me now. Oddly enough, however, sometimes I’ll see someone light up a fresh cig in a movie or something and I’ll get this strong 2-3 second craving for a smoke. It’s so strange how even over 12 years since my last one, I still get these strange urges for a cig by seeing someone of TV light one up.

Oh, piss off, dude. We get it. You don’t eat meat and you want to argue about it with strangers on a post that has nothing at all to do with the topic. Virtue signaling as a replacement for a personality.
- Comment on Age of Empires designer believes RTS games need to finally evolve after decades of stagnation 7 months ago:
Devs, look no further than Factorio as a shining example of how to innovate a gaming experience and genre. It is as easy or difficult and as simple or complicated as the player wants it to be and it’s not because difficultly settings. Your playstyle is the difficulty setting and it feels like there is ALWAYS something new to do, or a wildly different ways to do the same things. Also, their mod support and integration is unparalleled as far as any other game that comes to mind. No micro transactions, no ads, just an excellent game and experience. Sure, Factorio isn’t for everyone but the way it has been build, supported and all of those other elements that make it what it is beyond the core factory building sim ARE FOR EVERYONE. These aspects can be applied to other RTS games in general and can make it feel like a brand new experience while still being exactly what draws players into a specific RTS game.
