This is a mathematical problem with no solution, there has to be a cowlick on a sphere. Perhaps the mole avoids this problem by not being a sphere, where there is a possible solution

- Comment on is white light "white" because that's what our start emits? 1 week ago:
There are many colours of white, usually measured by temperature in kelvin. Mid day sun is a different white to late afternoon. With different sun temperatures, you would see different whites, the hotter the star, the bluer or cooler the white. The colder the star, the redder or warmer the white. Our eyes/brains do a great job adjusting white balance so the effect isn’t super obvious until you start comparing warm/neutral/cool whites in interior lighting

Probably not critical but beware on some vehicles they are structural and support the transmission or other components, such as on some Jeeps

In an audio system I don’t think you want big long wires like that… Even between capacitors. Surely can solder all those caps together without long leads? Would be tidier and safer?
- Comment on How can open source projects get acquired by third parties? 3 weeks ago:
I thought each contributor owned their own contributions which in why many projects can’t change the licence terms after contributors pull requests are merged unless the contributors agree unanimously

Oof that is not a great place to be for a worker. These reform groups make so much more sense now
I do see the temptation when tech salaries (for example) are like 5x ours but the drawbacks are wild if you get hurt or fall ill

Do you guys not have salary continuance and disability insurance by default through your retirement accounts? Over here by default if we hurt ourselves at work we get workers comp and outside of work we have salary continuance insurance (unless you’ve unsubscribed). If it’s bad enough you get a lump sum from total disability insurance
