i’unno, I just know that every person I’ve ever known that bought a samsung device that was not a phone, they ended up fighting through multiple warranty repairs and service visits before inevitably getting a refund.

I just find it astonishing that Samsung still makes appliances… Considering how awful they are at doing it, and how much money they have to lose for the dozen+ warranty repair visits they inevitably have before ultimately refunding the device.
Maybe thats why they have screens, So their appliance division can finally turn profit by advertising you until their device dies

They were never obsolete because, as it says on the sticker (that no one on the internet can ever seem to be bothered to read), that you can replace it every 2 years for new, more modern system for only 99 bucks.
and quite frankly, thats a fucking steal, considering what PC prices were like back in the late 90s, and with how fast technology was advancing.

Power wise, they said the steam machine is equivalent to what 70% of the steam users already have and use. If developers arent already optimizing for that, then one more machine out of thousands wont encourage it.

Eh, I dont want steam machine becoming a standardized PC.
having CPU and GPU baked into the board and unchangable will just increase e-waste cause it will age out much faster than a PC which you could, 3-4 years down the line, max out the CPU in, throw more ram into, or upgrade teh GPU, to keep it relevant for another 4+ years
It serves its niche purpose, but it should not become standard.
