A few people, albeit very few, have either misunderstood the accessibility options we are trying, or have only seen the video without actually trying them out in the demo play.

We have “multiple types of color vision options” for players with different color vision, not just one pattern. In addition to that, there is also a brightness adjustment for effects, and an overall brightness adjustment, and with those, there is quite a range of adjustment. On top of that, we have never claimed or publicized that these options cover all players’ color vision (although it has been talked about by a favorable community as a result).

These color vision options are a rare part of the fighting game genre, but they are still being researched and we intend to expand on them in the future.

Currently, we have received positive feedback from many demo play participants, but we understand that this option does NOT address the color vision of ALL players in the world (said again). We would also like to inform you that we have been working with several research institutes and communities to develop this option even before we developed the “accessibility version of TEKKEN7 (not for sale)” and #TEKKEN8.

It sounds like they are still working on it and that there are multiple accessibility options.

It seems like headlines and Tweets have led people to think otherwise.

Most OSs and monitors these days have native colorblind filters. It seems better to rely on those than this… option.

This seems like lazy journalism to me. The devs are trying to add a plethora of accessibility options that by definition are not going to be optimal for everyone. At least they are trying to add these options.

Yeah, the backlash feels like people getting upset that they can’t understand their movies when they change the language from English to Swahili.
