I mean find one that fits your budget? They’re cheap and there is no “good” one. They’ll all do the job, read a disc. I got a random one sitting in a drawer for those just in cases I got off ebay a few years back. It just does the job when needed.
Are there any good CD/DVD external drives out there to connect to a laptop? So I can put all my old cd's and dvd's to my laptop then my external hd? And hopefully a decent priced one?

AFAIK most of the cheap ones Just Work™. At least on Linux, would be unusual if that wasn’t true on other operating systems.

My Verbatim brand one has been working great for… well, at least a decade at this point. Plug and play. It does need two USB ports, though.

Picked one up last year for $35? Some generic Chinese brand; CD/DVD reader/writer. Haven’t had any issues with it.
