I think I’m joining the ranks of people who have become radicalised against the mainstream media.

What’s done it for me has been the reporting on the climate breakdown this summer. Most of the main ‘respectable’ news outlets have acknowledged the role of climate change but I haven’t seen any of them talking about the reality of addressing it and what that means for class structure and the wholesale redirection of productive output. The people who own, run and staff these outlets are the ones who will have their private consumption reduced if Zack Polanski’s policy platform of action on climate change and inequality is implemented, and he is therefore the enemy of them and their class. Because what he stands for also represents the interests of normal people like us, that means we are also their enemy.

When you understand what is at stake with the climate it’s impossible not to see this class war as literally a fight for survival.

After a few weeks of starting into the abyss (a la the grim reality of what climate change will do) it finally stared back. A huge nothingness, completely powerless to affect it, no choice left but to submit to it, and let it wash over you.

It took a part of me. But I’ve taken a part of it too. My personal fear, anger, sadness, all such small things when compared to the end of the world as we know it today. To truly believe this, kind of reminds me how it felt when I was on SSRI’s in a weird way. I’m not surprised that so many people aren’t here yet. It’s legitimately terrifying.

For me though, losing all hope really was freedom.

The Economist is spouting actual Nazi shit, what a bunch of losers.

The Economist defended slavery in its first issues, so it has always been like this.

This will be dressed up as an opinion piece.

We’re just interviewing people and expressing their opinions.

He’s free to sue them of course, but I think he knows it will go nowhere.
