Hello, Lemmy community!
This first article is written 100% for the purpose of my introduction to Lemmy.
First of all, I used to publish on Reddit, but that platform is too censored and controlled for my taste. Not that I publish offensive or “bad” things. Far from it!
So, I decided to look for another place where I could share my articles freely. I asked AI for some suggestions, and it showed me several options, but Lemmy immediately caught my attention because it’s DECENTRALIZED!!
And now, we’re getting to the point that is central (pun intended) to me!
I am a hardcore member of the Kendu community, and for the past two years, my life has revolved around it.
Many people might call me crazy or stupid, but I don’t think that is necessarily a more fulfilling life than knowing that the rest of your “healthy” years will be spent working for a company, hoping you don’t get fired.
You see, everyone’s choices can be good or bad, criticized or supported. The most important thing is to do what your heart and your brain tell you is right for you.
So, let me briefly introduce Kendu.
Kendu is a memecoin that was launched more than two years ago. It experienced a huge hype, but the original dev was, surprisingly, a big larper and a scammer. So, as often happens in crypto, the community took over the project (CTO) and is now surviving through the bear market while developing something special.
Here are the two things I find most interesting about Kendu:
- The ethos: You don’t gamble, you work.
- The unlimited possibilities for creation: The permissionless brand concept.
The ethos has helped shape the community by attracting people who are willing to work for their bags and, more importantly, people who are capable of building serious things.
The permissionless brand concept sounds cool on paper, but it isn’t really new — unless you bring a structure that protects the brand’s image and strengthens the use of funds for developing the ecosystem, while remaining decentralized and permissionless.
An incubator, business labels, a marketplace, and many other things are already on the roadmap.
It’s not an easy thing to build, but we are currently working on it and we’re not far from releasing it!
It could become the very first ecosystem of its kind, and honestly, it’s incredibly interesting to be part of building it.
Moreover, we already have several community members who have launched their own businesses under the Kendu brand, such as Kendu Spice, Kendu Unleashed, Kendu Coffee, and more.
I also know of several major projects currently being developed under the Kendu brand concept. And when you put all of that together, it makes the whole thing even more exciting!
If the Lemmy community likes this kind of content, I’m willing to share the progress, the challenges, and other important developments here — on a decentralized platform, for a decentralized brand project.
A brand from the people, for the people.
