To be honest this news has me kinda baffled. Pedro Pascal is a great actor but I figured the only reason Disney/Marvel could have for not just giving the prime-universe Reed Richards role to John Krasinski after MoM is if they wanted to cast a younger actor, not go in the opposite direction. If this news proves to be true I’m not gonna be mad or anything but it’s just unexpected and feels a bit odd.

It’s a shame Marvel doesn’t feel confident in their current stable so they look to big names as tent poles to hold up the IP. But it worked for Mario so Hollywood executives are going to do what executives do best: steal from others.
This would have been a good chance to get someone young to build the franchise on but Fant4stic ruined that idea, ignoring all the drama behind the movie. And using an unknown is out because the F4 before that didn’t work with an unknown.
It seems the only decision which feels new is the same old “get a big name” idea. Let’s see how it goes. Mario haters are weirdly silent now that the Pratt hate proved unjustified. (Or maybe the hate forces voice effects to be applied to hide his voice?) Marvel may have a Reed which makes us pay more attention.

~Finally~, another superhero movie

I love Pedro, but this would be insane casting that’d be pretty clearly more about getting a popular name on board than actually making sense for the character. Hopefully these sources are wrong.

I think he’d be fine as Reed Richards but, eh, he’s also going to be 50 before Fantastic Four even comes out. If they aren’t going to give us a young F4 team, and age isn’t an issue, then why not just leave Krasinski in the role rather than relegating him to a variant that got thirty seconds of screen time in an otherwise forgettable movie.
