  This post took me on a roller coaster of emotions. First I was indignant that someone would talk about the US without being explicitly negative about it. Then confused because what about this is the shit post? Then embarrassed at being trolled. Then appreciative of how good of a shit post this is.

      Yeah, and? Is that meant to be a flex? It also doesn’t negate my point. The real flex would be “what do you do if he *didn’t*. Saying “oh we’re lucky this guy was so incorruptible” doesn’t mean shit. Just to make my point clearer *the UK removed George III after he went mad and put his son in charge as a regent*.

      The President of the United States has more power than every British King after the year 1640, and I’m going to be frank, you don’t have an effective mechanism to remove a president from power if they go rogue, partly because your constitution was drawn up with one man in mind, and he walked away from power. This question is more relevant and pressing than ever.

      Impeachment? OK, what if the President ignores Congress and the courts? As commander in chief he has the armed forces, and can we be sure enough people defect to the side of congress. Wait, this sounds very familiar.

      Can the UK remove a King (without bloodshed or war)? Yes! And they have, in fact George III was removed from power after he went insane (yes, you heard, surprised you don’t talk about that more). Can we remove a Prime Minister in the same way? Yes! Parliament can force a Prime Minister to resign and it’s binding, they can literally get armed police in to drag them out kicking and screaming if needs be.
