The Ratchet Effect is not just for the US. The Ratchet Effect applies to a lot of countries.

The Conservatives dragged the UK to far enough to the right that the Reform Party has a decent chance at winning. What does Labour do? Double down on conservative policies to try to win the right from the Reform.
