why dont the power companies invest in more generation then?
I hear you but in this instance its the distribution company not generation company. The distribution businesses aren’t allowed to generate or have batteries.
You’d think that smart meters would be smart enough to report voltage drops.
What happened to all that gold plating?
that was to keep supply up for air conditioning, now we’re transitioning other appliances as well.
the gold plating was needed because Aussies wouldn’t tolerate thermostats being turned down remotely for short periods, to ensure less demand. More AC is needed because of climate change
It’s like roads, we build to transport everyone into and out of town at the same time, rest of the time they sit there mostly empty, same kind of stupid thinking.
eventually it all collapses under the weight of its own stupidity but until then we have the Olympics to spend billions on /s

That sucks. I’m hoping renters eventually get to have solar panels on roofs and balconies like Finland and Germany do
