    That’s not a physical edition then. This is the reason, I am not buying consoles anymore. Too many day-one patches.

      Day one patches have been the standard for over a decade, and they are as common on the PC as they are on consoles…

      The majority of games from the last 15 years that you install with a disc will require a patch to run. You could keep your pc or console off network and play the original buggy version on the disc if you want…

    Nothing new. The timeline for physical games being created is always several months prior to release using the final build at the time. The only confusing part seems to be that the game can be used offline until a new patch? If the system is not online at all how will it know a new patch exists? If the game checks in when booted then thats not offline either.
