The ABC’s Americas Editor, John Lyons, says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s response to Israeli and US strikes on Iran “could have been written by the US and Israel”. Albanese has said Australia “stands with the brave people of Iran in their struggle against what is an oppressive regime”. Lyons also said Trump has become involved in the Israel-Iran conflict in ways that weaken his own position.
