Spaghetti Western is a very common term for those movies, or at least it was when I grew up. Sergio Leone was one of the pioneers of the genre so I guess that’s where the name comes from?

Don’t forget Ennio Morricone and his musical genius. Many of the most iconic scores in Western films are his compositions.

A lot of the classical westerns were produced by Italians. Even ones with Clint Eastwood. Hence the term spaghetti Western.
Italian productions were also profilic in making Mad Max (post apocalyptic action) clowns and Conan clones (sword and candles action) in the 80s, but I am not aware of a specific name for these styles.

All my life and I never looked it up to see why they were called that.
Also always wondered as a kid about that Italian guy in the California Raisins VHS I watched on repeat and now that makes sense too youtu.be/aPCOfuXYRhs at 13:08 mark. The full thing is still great to watch, if anyone is interested. I apparently busted a few couches dancing to this as a kid lol

So is this developed, written, or produced by an Italian? The spaghetti seems like a misattributed description here.
