As a result, I am beginning movements to transfer the television community to piefed. In the nearly three months since I made this, I’ve managed to cause the community to become the most active community on the instance. Since then, I did have my eye on Piefeds development and was interested in its features and did consider long-term the prospect of moving across.
Now that Lemm.ee is going to shut down, I guess my hand has been forced.
I strongly encourage all local people on here to relocate also to Piefed. It’s a really well-designed instance with a lot of tools for people and cool in-house functions.

is this an instance thing, so like if it appears empty to me, that means there has not been any new posts since someone on the instance I’m on subscribed?

Something similar.
If you don’t see new posts. It means no one on your instance is subscribed to that community yet, so it hasn’t federated to your instance.
(You by subscribing will make it federate) :)

I don’t know. But I’m going to also relocate to lemmy.world if possible, and the likelihood is that will be much more active.

yes you’re correct

I’m also making a request for the lemmy.world instance since piefed is still in development and quite different to lemmy. If you look at how Piefed works, it integrates with other communities with the same name - so it is possible to do both.
