Yeah because original ideas and ip’s are always risky and there is too much money invested in movies these days to afford to be risky. Half of the work has already been done if there is a fanbase ready and waiting for them.

There seems to be a mountain of lore in the Armored Core series that’s waiting to be mined. I really enjoyed the AC episode of Secret Level.

I tried to give Until Dawn a go. I love horror movies, but I just don't know. It didn't speak to me. I don't know if there's one video game movie I have ever liked outside of Resident Evil...actually that's a lie. I loved that OG Mario Bros movie that everyone seems to hate. That movie was the shit! Same thing for live action flicks from anime/manga too. Cause I am a crack head for Kuragehime (Princess Jellyfish) and no matter how solid they made that movie I just couldn't get behind it.

First we mine, then we craft.

A24 has shown its self to be very competent in making new movies with a lot of artistic and cinematic merit, this isn’t one of the big boys buying up Americana and regurgitating up 300 of the same thing. it’s a fairly small and new enterprise who actually treats their talent very well, when the writer strikes happened A24 immediately gave them what they were asking for and went on with business
I think it’s too soon to be jaded about this announcement

I’d leave the house to watch a Diablo movie, granted it’s done well.
