I can’t click on it, don’t find anything on lemmy.world about it (maybe I’m just not good at searching for this stuff) and it only appears on a single comment I made. I haven’t seen it anywhere else yet. What does it mean?
But I am not a mod in that community ^^° so unless an actual mod / admin slammed that icon onto my comment for whatever reason, I have no idea why it is there.
Yeah that part I don’t know, that is what that icon means, though.
Did you somehow put an emoji in your name? It’s on your main profile also. So I believe it’s a part of your name as opposed to community/server related.
If it was part of the username, it should appear on all comments across the site. It’s just that one single comment tho.
Interesting. It shows up on all of your comments on this thread for me. I’m using liftoff.
Could it mean you’re blocked/banned/shadow-banned or similar?
That was my first instinct too, but I can’t find anything about it in the mod log, where banning etc. would normally appear (the logs are public). And if I were banned, I wouldn’t be able to post and comment, nor would y’all be able to see the comment, right?
I’m just at a loss.
I guess it’s a UI bug, with Sync the icon doesn’t show up on your comment (and it does show up on admin comment, so it’s supported by the app).

Do you have a link? Does something appear when you put your mouse on top of it without clicking?
No hover text either, unlike with other icons. Direct comment links don’t properly work ATM, but there are only two comments on the post anyway: lemmy.world/post/4262270
The HTML says “text-danger” but I only see it on lemmy.world, maybe ask a mod about it.
The icon usually signifies you’re a moderator of the community, that the comment is within.
Could it be to identify you as OP?
