  I love everything about Tabac, but the lather on this non-tallow formula is so finnicky to me.

  I think it has been something like 3 years that I killed my tub of Tabac, and this was one of the old ones that was not vegan. The scent was a return to a known stank, and it is definitely less stanky (by 30 years) than Blue Mediterranean. Also, much less slickness than with the MdC. But – nice!

  2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

  Last shave with the Maher & Grosh before returning the razor. I really enjoyed the soft Jnat edge on this razor that was sent to me by The Cajun Blade to try.

  RIP TSF, you had a great run. I talked some shit against them, but TSF really does make a good soap with fun scents. I’m glad to have some of their soaps.

  Tabac today as a stand-in for the BVWSC soap of the month which was waylaid by the German postal system. I can’t complain though, Tabac always gives me a good shave. Now off to the office smelling like a middle-aged man.

  The TSF gang made it a lot further than I’d have predicted. Reaching fourth place and surviving last year’s champion is really impressive. I’m curious to see where the TSFers will bring their votes going forward. I feel like 2025 is probably the last March Madness where TSF is an outsider and underdog.

  Today’s Tabac Wednesday is brought by the Deutsche Post which lost the BVWSC smushes for the March meeting, and Tabac is our fallback choice. The Glorious Old Man Stank®, Ol’ Reliable, The Stank®, no matter which name you use, Tabac has a weird beloved and hated place in our community. I happen to really enjoy the scent, but I’m less convinced by the vegan formulation. I know that the lather is still slick but the bubbly structure bothers me. After this tub of vegan formulation is done, I’ll revert to my tallow pucks and their glistening wet lather in the hopes that there will be a less frothy re-reformulation before I run out.
