Whatever the solution is, posting about it in cleartext on the internet is asking for whatever surveillance state the UAE has to get involved before your son has a chance to escape to somewhere safer.

That article specifically calls out Iceland, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Canada as the most accepting countries for people in the LGBTQ community.
I would start by seeing what your son wants. Not to assume you haven’t already done that, of course, but I would take his wishes into account and then go from there.

That’s great, I hope everything works out. I’m not sure how much you follow north american politics but it’s probably not the best time to move to Canada with the ongoing trade war and continuing threats of annexation by the American president. Hopefully someone else can speak to the experience he may have in the other countries on that list, though.
