Also the kfc app maxxes the brightness when opening the app!
I’ve looked super hard into forcing android to never have its brightness hijacked. Haven’t been able to find a single workaround

Why would you not want max brightness when displaying a QR code?
Because I’m not always trying to scan something, like, if you’re in the Starbucks app ordering something and you accidentally click the card screen and you’re blasted in the face. I hate that shit, I’ll turn my own screen brightness up thank you
Even if its not displaying the qr code, it goes max brightness
Catima does not do this crap
Stop using the app and eat healthy food instead?
THIS is the true answer.
Rooting?
So rooting is just allowing access to the root folders of your device and your kernel, rooting your phone doesn’t do anything to prevent forced brightness changes
Just instal an other brightness app (I still use Lux Dash) and don’t use the android thing. I specifically add apps with QC codes as exemptions so it auto turns my brightness up. If you don’t add those they should do them
I’ve tried lux, no go

Auth codes expiring is nothing new.
They’re just using a QR code to deliver it. The QR code will still be readable, but points to an expired authorization.
