Eh, people don’t like twitter. That’s not weird.

Now you know I was referring to the comments calling her a “space influencer” lol
zante@slrpnk.net 1 day ago
The guy is obvious a X twat, but she isn’t exactly Albert Einstein . She’s a Space communicator - and a self described one at that.
natecox@programming.dev 1 day ago
Wow what a lousy take from this exchange.
zante@slrpnk.net 1 day ago
Not really if you are media literate.
Shes name dropping Obama and Space Force and NAsa - her job is PR.
I’m not degrading her, but let’s not pretend shes an astrophysicist who’s been to the moon.

Her first point stands wrt SpaceX. Turning this into a discussion about her experience on the topic makes her point even more valid. Last time I checked people didn’t need to be a nobel laurate in a field to make a valid point.
Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Do you say the same thing to your science teacher at school when they explain something to you?
zante@slrpnk.net 1 day ago
It’s not really up to me to educate you on social media literacy.
SwordInStone@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Yes, but she still probably knows what she is talking about

Are there any opinions you have that aren’t garbage?
RobotToaster@mander.xyz 1 day ago
Are any of the things she listed actually “doing science” though? Writing policy is more politics.
AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 1 day ago
Well he did ask ‘what have you done that’s so great’
TheFogan@programming.dev 1 day ago
exactly, she wasn’t saying she was a researcher, she was stating she wasn’t an arm chair quarterback… Going with the sports analogy she’s far closer to a manager or a coach… not a dude on the couch with just the perspective of what’s shown on TV.
ghurab@lemmy.world 1 day ago
I worked for NASA and the Space Force …
That “worked for” is doing a lot of heavy lifting, she’s a tiktok influencer lol

Should’ve just said, Google my name or something.
lady_maria@lemmy.world 1 day ago
why? then he wouldn’t’ve been humbled in such a satisfying, heart-warming way. clearly, he hasn’t experience that nearly enough. not to mention the sheer audacity and what is very likely to be misogyny.
gabbath@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 day ago
It’s definitely misogyny. The incredulous attitude at the competence of a woman in a male-dominated field is textbook.
Trollception@sh.itjust.works 1 day ago
Eh both responses were cringe. She should have ignored him tbh
