Idk I haven’t watched those channels but doesn’t that seem pretty paradoxical? Advanced society with relative social equality, harmony in federation, they’re all very anti-conservative qualities

Some time ago I was so sick of reading complaints about the “nu-trek wokeism” I started a rewatch of the different shows making a list of the obviously woke things touched in every episode to make a long thread, episode by episode… I abandoned the idea because watching it “just to prove a point” wasn’t enjoyable, and it felt dumb having to explain why this or that is progressive.
Some episodes haven’t aged well, and Star Trek has lagged in some issues (lgtb specially) but they were really progressive for the time they were aired. The anti racism for example was constant an pretty on the nose. Every mention of capitalism in TNG being treated as a dumb teenager phase in humankind story…

I plan to eventually make a youtube series just compiling clips of how Old Trek was indeed “woke”

Although Star Trek has always been progressive for its time, with a good number of message episodes related to contemporary politics, it was off air for long enough that these people now making videos viewed the old trek as kids, when they weren't aware enough to know contemporary politics, and if watching something like TOS, the issues were mostly 'solved(at least in the minds of these kinds of viewers)'. If you give them the benefit of the doubt that their kid selves viewed these old shows apolitically, whats left is a show about a futuristic military vessel that as often as not has to solve issues with force. Its not too hard to see why Fascists could find value in that.

Watch Jessie Gender instead

She’s much better than the average Trek reviewer, for sure.

First one needs to recognize that the right is what they hate.
They love-hate themselves into Star Trek.
They secretly want to be pinko social libtards but their social circle forces them to deny themselves.

This is more of a c/quarks topic.

Have they ever watched Star Trek? It was practically Communism. They broadcast the first interracial kiss on TV in 1968. Dr. MLK literally told Nichelle Nichols not to quit because she was a hero. It was woke af.

They claim Star Trek has become leftist “dogma” only recently LOL

Did MLK really say this?
TOS was not woke af - if you compare it with some movies, who were made during socialism, it was sexist bullshit af.
Back to MLK, if I have it right in my mind, he wanted her to stay in position, because of representation. Which was important, but it doesn’t make you a hero.
I’n not saying it was everything bad, but it was also not that big like many think.
