The question is why now ? Did ethics not matter to you then ? (Especially during the time when they fuckex yu over the 1st time)
Everyone has different thresholds for action. When you’re talking about replacing your entire professional toolset, it might make sense that they were resistent.
You would think getting screwed once would be enough
Because now this stuff is in a better working state.
Linux now supports most video games (successfully played elden ring, drg, and Balatro this weekend) open office is far more reliable.
The options now WORK
This isn’t Reddit. You don’t need to try to one-up everyone to feel seen.
Why is this question important to you? Are you thinking about doing something with the info, or just pontificating about how you think you’re better than others for making choices sooner?

I moved to Linux about 2 years ago. It instantly felt better in terms of security, privacy and speed.
But there were many weeks of frustration trying to get things the way I wanted.
A bit like moving to a new town, you don’t know where things are, you miss so many things about your old town, but gradually you learn about the new town and all its features and are glad you moved.

I like this moving to a new town analogy. I may use that in the future.
