Ants? That’s amazing! I always though they had terrible vision just acute enough for orientation around landmarks and the sun. I never even knew they used vision to identify each other, let along themselves!

What’s wrong with rubber band cigarette butt nest anyhow? Keeps parasites away and offers a little warm, low effort so energy saved, seems plenty decent to me.

Cigarette butts have insecticidal properties. Many species of birds use material with special properties in their nests.
Adaptation to the man-made environment is a sign of intelligence.
