I don't get it, but I assume there's some obscure historical or philosophical joke going on here. Can someone explain?
Or maybe it's "read" as in "read his book" and the drag term "read him for filth" lol I hope it's that one

Not wanting to come across as unread, meme Henry Cavill responds with a boastful affirmative answer. However, because he has not heard of Marcus Aurelius, meme Henry Cavill’s response of “Both” reveals his pseudo-intellectualism, intention to deceive, and insecurity to the interviewer and the audience.
