My local theater is showing the 70mm print of Oppenheimer, cant wait!
Seeing it in 70mm on Monday at the science museum in city. Glad I realised as there is a "fake" IMAX (just a big odeon screen) that I nearly went to that was same price as science museum.
Got my ticket for 70mm as well. Kind of stoked, I've never seen a 70mm film before.
I also saw Lawrence of Arabia in 70mm, it was magnificent! Buckle up buckeroo.
Def want to see this movie. Should I take 70m or Imax?
IMAX 70mm if you can, but if there are no theatres in your area that do that then I would go 70mm.
Just a counter point I saw in analogue 70mm IMAX and found the frame rate caused flicker on my peripheral on some of the very white black and white scenes. So in some places the screen is bright white right to the edges and you catch a flicker. I wonder if digital would be the same or not.
What I can say for sure is that “Oppenheimer” far too often feels like a three-hour Wikipedia entry than a compelling movie.

As a non native English speaker, this is incredibly frustrating. I’m perfectly able to understand words, meaning, context, accents and even cultural references but so many dialogues in movies are just drowning in background music or noises - or sometimes the actors simply mumble. The latter is soooo annoying!

As someone with hearing loss I second this. Reading lips often helps but when an actor mumbles, their lips barely moving, I lose almost all of what’s said … then must rewatch the clip 5 or 6 times to understand what’s being stated.
I do use subtitles but streaming doesn’t always have the sub file available either.
