Comment on Invincible Season 2 coming Nov 3
Katana314@lemmy.world 1 year agoWhen Omni-Man finally took turn to explain his motivations there was almost no substance to it. In the end, a lot of it felt like because a few characters were far more powerful than all the others, little else mattered. Robot’s whole arc kinda puttered out without affecting anyone else, too.

That’s surprising to hear, it felt like a fully logical in-universe explanation for the whole thing to me (though I know a bit about the comic background, so maybe that helps).
This was directly addressed in multiple ways. Characters didn’t just sit around because others were stronger.
Robots arc just hit a climax in the last episode. How did it putter out? I’m reasonably sure it will pick up where it left off in the next season.

My main issue I have is that it’s a guy who has a plan…who then executes that plan. And…everything goes according to plan, and he doesn’t have any future plans. That’s not an interesting story, and it doesn’t relate to anything else happening in the universe.

Hm, I guess I can kinda see that.
Not exactly. First off, he didn’t catch the Mauler twins like he expected, since he was interrupted by the emergency call. This means the GDA had to catch them, which might lead to trouble if they find out that Robot broke them out of prison.
Second, he didn’t expect blowback from the team, which he got. It wasn’t focused on much due to the severity of the surrounding situation, but I’m sure this will be addressed in season 2.
None that you know of right now, because there wasn’t time to set anything up once his initial plan climaxed. We also don’t know of any plans by the rest of the Guardians, and that’s okay, because the end of the season wasn’t focused on them!
