I think there were a few scenes or episodes removed because they discussed aspects of childbirth.
Comment on 'Bluey' animated movie from Disney to hit theaters in 2027
realcaseyrollins@thelemmy.club 3 days agoWhich topics did they shy away from? I have only seen a few episodes and plan on watching the whole thing when I have more time.

Typically it’s toilet humor (which the Australian viewers are more casual about), but apparently there’s some cut/altered/restored content on both sides of the fence. blueypedia.fandom.com/wiki/Censorship_of_Bluey has the breakdown by season. Look for reasons with “Regional difference” in bold. Lots of things that “might be dangerous” are cut in the BBC versions. I find it kinda funny, but maybe I’m a dumb American lout. For example, in an episode about playing with balloons, they cut a scene showing Bluey blowing up the balloon because of “concerns about children with asthma wanting to do the act” 🙄

What’s the target audience of this show?
AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 3 days ago
Apparently, it’s hospitalised children with severe asthma, allergies and motor disabilities.

Haha! I was curious because I collect physical media and plan on getting the new Bluey S01-S03 DVD set next month. I’ve only seen the show on Disney+ but it looks like the DVD is from the BBC.

I guess there’s no way to get the show uncensored then?

I avoid piracy if I can support a work physically by buying it (or even digitally if it’s on iTunes cuz I can removed the DRM).
Turns out that the Blu-Ray version of this does have banned episodes so I’ll be getting that one: www.amazon.com/gp/…/R3U5FN9UX6QFV5?ASIN=B0DFWKTXT…
