Ahoy’s videos are so good. It sucks that it takes him so long to upload, but I really enjoy the high quality.

I know he has 1.75 million subscribers, but in the context of YouTube and its billions of users he’s such a hidden gem. All his videos have such high production value. He’s been incredibly consistent over the years, transcending every fad that YouTube goes through. He also composes the music for his videos.
Finding such quality creators is so rare.

Go check out posy. I put him in the same category with just a little more cheek.

I love posy. I will happily watch him talk about an old stereo system from 30 years ago for 20 min.

I had no idea about the composing, that’s so cool. I know he was just trending, but another hidden gem is Lemmino. I feel like his latest video blew up though. It’s frustrating because I feel like any time I find a good creator, I blow through all of their videos, and then I realize they only upload a few times a year.

Lemmino and Ahoy share a very similar space in my mental filing system. They upload pretty infrequently, but man are the videos worth the wait

I wish there was a platform that only consisted of thoughtful content like this. I would pay a subscription if I knew it was going to be clickbait and junk free, even if it meant significantly fewer uploads.

There’s Nebula.tv with a fairly decent roster of creators.
I understand where you’re coming from. It’s why I deeply care about my YouTube recommendations and put so much effort into it.

Y’know for the amount of ads I’ve seen for Nebula and CuriosityStream it hadn’t even crossed my mind. Thanks.
