Thanks, but I have just finished episode 1 and there’s not a single sight of Danny DeVito? He’s not even listed in the main casts? Is he just a side character or guess star in this show?
He joined the show starting season 2 and is in almost every episode from that point forward. If you’re seriously just starting Always Sunny, I’m extremely jealous of you. Being able to watch it for the first time is always a wild ride!
He doesn’t appear until season 2 and it’s hilarious. He’s in every episode after that.
If I remember right, the way it’s depicted in the show is basically how it went in real life. DeVito showed up to the set and was like “let me be part of the gang!” and they were all “okay why not?”

I don’t know about watching it without having seen all the prior episodes but “The Nightman Cometh” is funniest half hour comedy ever produced.

He does add a lot to the show, but at the end of the day, the gang acting all stupid is the entire show’s shtick.
