Never forget who ruined the beautifully working Swedish postal service. Maud Olofsson screwed us over by taking on one of the worst deals in history. The Danish must have laughed their asses off when they offloaded their failing postal service onto the Swedish people.

Iâm sure Denmark has hurt you greatly and will do so again, but the ownership is 60/40 between Sweden and Denmark. PostNord operates the same in Denmark as it does in Sweden.

I think you might be misunderstanding me. Iâm not trying to attack the danish people in any way.
What Iâm trying to say is this.
- Sweden had a great postal service and Denmark not so much
- A incompetent Swedish politician got us into a crap deal
- Now both Sweden and Denmark has crappy postal service
- And just as you point out, Sweden is now stuck paying for 60% percent of this clusterfuck while Denmark only pays for 40%.
No wonder the Danish people often is considered some of the happiest in the world.
Iâm also trying to remind people that things like this is what happens when you elect politicians that donât have the peoples interests in mind. And looking at the current people in charge such a reminder is unfortunately highly relevant.

Post Danmark actually wasnât that bad. It was a bit old school, but the prices were decent and the service was high quality. A year after the merger and absolutely everything was shit.

I donât think she should be earning so much, but varannandagsutdelning does actually make sense with how few letters get sent (even though Iâd also prefer daily delivery). But crazy that stamp prices have also basically doubled.
But just like with so many other public service things and agencies, Sweden is determined to make a paper profit. Vinstkrav. Would be cool if SJ for example was allowed to sell their train tickets for cheaper prices, but nope, they need to make at least 10% profit or something around that.

I think the main issue I have is that this also applies to time critical post, and thus post can arrive too late.

When it comes to essential infrastructure it makes no sense to me that they need to operate on a profit.

I canât think of many examples where a postal letter will be so time-critical that it will make a big difference if itâs delayed 1 day (or until Monday if delivery was on Thursday)?
But I agree, it shouldnât have to be like that. And how much paper-profit they make would probably be nothing compared to the benefits society gets (and thus benefits the countryâs economy regardless).

Funnily enough, the CEO of PostNord Denmark earns ~700k DKK, so that is around 1.5 time that, but for running the part of the company with more losses
