Melbourne Pathology has ‘supercentres’ that are open from 7.30 am. I use the Northcote Plaza one, but there may be one closer to you.

Do they bulk bill if the referral document has another pathology provider’s form thingo? I once went to a different pathology chain than the one on my referral and got stung with out of pocket fees… I’ll call and ask maybe. Thanks for the heads up.

  I think they take referrals from ALL providers. Dunno about the fees, I’ve never been asked to pay.

    Turns out there isn’t a super clinic near me that opens at 7 :( But the tip is much appreciated. The Melb Pathology places closer to work (and me) are open at 8 which would work better logistically.
    
    I think the time I had to pay was because it was an ECG and I went to a pathology clinic at a hospital and billing was all convoluted and confusing. Looks like it should be ok with a standard blood test.
