samus12345@lemmy.world 1 month agoOnce something has been thrown out as trash in a public space, it’s legal for someone else to take and isn’t a liability. A place that actually gave a shit would have a separate trash container for things that are still safe to eat.

Might not be illegal to take trash but they put the trash bins in locked private property with do not trespass signs making it illegal to go in and take it. Fuck those places.
