This also showed up in one of the Strange Matter books. Presumably in Fly The Unfriendly Skies.

Thanks, TIL. Finding out that they used real UFO conspiracy theories as source material makes me like Xcom even more.

lazar is one of the best pieces of conspiracy evidence yet… the government tried to deny he ever worked at los alamos and erased his records… but there were newspaper articles on it, proving he did, and thus proving the government erased his records….
on top of that he never sought fame or money… just told his story and then refused interviews after that….
it was either all a psyop to fuck with the russians, or real evidence of a government coverup and a project to reverse engineer alien technology….but, the term “conspiracy theory” was made up by the cia, to make people who investigate real conspiracies look crazy….
and it’s even etymologically dumb because a theory, in science, is something that’s very well proven…. like the theory of evolution….

Element 115 is Muscovium. It was first synthesized 9 years after the launch of UFO: Enemy Unknown (which, fun fact, is objectively the best PC game ever published).
