What’s the issue with that?

It’s 2002, and you’re still playing PS1?

You can have a PS2 and still play PS1… on your PS2.
You could even have a PS1 on the go at this point (power outlet required), and even play your CDs while you’re at it.
It’s never a bad time to play PS1.

It’s 2024 I’m still playing Sega Genesis.

You forget how ridiculously difficult and expensive it was to buy a PS2 when it was released.

PS2 released in 2000. By 2002, Dreamcast already went under and Xbox and GameCube were about to release.

Yes, and the PS2 was still more expensive than anything else on the market at the time. Plus there were shortages. I didn't even see a PS2 until mid 2002 when a coworker finally got one and invited us over for a party.

There were PS2 shortages.
There were PS3 shortages.
There were PS4 shortages.
There were PS5 shortages.
At this point we might as well just add another year or 2 to whatever Sony says is the launch date for any future PS’s lmao

Xbox launched holiday 2000 and halo had been out for a full year

Correction: Xbox was 2001.
