I’m interested to hear why you don’t plan on voting.

Not worth engaging. No actual political ideology, no analyses, not interested in engaging with discussion just being jackass, quite possibly a troll.

Why would you expect me to plan on voting?
lud@lemm.ee 6 months ago
Because you live in a democracy and it’s a part of your duty to vote.
Non voters are embarrassing.

it’s a part of your duty to vote
ROFL “Duty”?!
I’m absolutely astonished that you would come out with such a ridiculous, anachronistic idea. Tell me, what precisely happened in your life that gave you the idea that I owe anyone any kind of duty simply because I was born? Did you watch a Disney movie?
Clearly in your mind there is a logical chain from some starting point to the end point of voting being a duty. I challenge you to write this down in words. To express your idea lucidly and rationally. Convince me. I dare you to try. Do you have it in you? Or can you only embarrass yourself further?

You might prefer one of the available options. Some are worse than others.

You might prefer one of the available options.
What options are you talking about?
I asked you why I would vote. The options I see are to vote or not vote.

I won’t be voting.
But you will be posting 😜

Eh?
echodot@feddit.uk 6 months ago
Either vote or shut up.
Seriously if you don’t engage in the political system you have no right to complain about it.

Why not? I don’t follow.

Not voting, if you're otherwise able, is a tacit acceptance for how things are.
Presumably you don't want to vote for the incumbents, so vote for someone who'll replace them, whether you like that option or not.
Voting out a bad lot is the only legal way we have to protest.
And then vote third party next time if they don't change things to your liking. Then fourth. Fifth. Etc.
Don't like the political parties? Start one.
Think the whole lot should be lined up and shot? (For legal reasons this is purely metaphorical.) Start organising.
But if that's too much for you, vote.
