Because you have the chance to change things for the better and if you don’t take that chance but still keep complaining about things then all you are doing is pretending you care.

Why not? I don’t follow.

How?
and if you don’t take that chance but still keep complaining about things then all you are doing is pretending you care
Complaining doesn’t imply caring. If my neghbours keep me up until 2am having parties on school nights and I complain about that, the complaining doesn’t mean I care about anything beyond my own wellbeing.

Because you’re the sort of person that says “ooh both sides are the same”, but firstly that isn’t true they are very different political parties otherwise they would literally be the same party, they have existed for long enough they would have homogenized by now, and secondly even if it was true, refusing to engage in the political system will simply ensure that it continues to exist.
At least everyone else is trying to improve their lot rather than just moaning about it. Which is you’ve elected to do. Complaining without action is literally useless, if that’s all you’re going to do I’d rather you did it quietly somewhere else.

You have no idea what kind of person I am. You’re jumping to conclusions.
Not voting doesn’t imply not improving one’s lot. I have not elected to not improve my lot.
I’m not going to reduce myself to your level by telling you what I think you are.
