I’m playing through the first two games again for the first time in many years to get set for this. They hold up pretty well. Haven’t tried Deserts of Kharak but might play that too.

I’ve heard Homeworld Emergence (formerly Homeworld Cataclysm) is quite good. It started as an expansion pack for the first game but kept expanding until it was a standalone game.
