Needed a change of scenery with doing work (going a bit troppo doing WFH all the time) so brought my laptop to a local cafe. This place is more a coffee and small eats place rather than a full-on brunch place, so thought it would be fine.
Itâs interesting how working / studying from cafes in Australia isnât really a thing. I get why (table turnover). I remember when I was in the US it was very common to walk into a cafe and see most people with laptops. Didnât seem to be an issue in Japan either.

eh? heaps of people work/study from cafes here, just not when/where itâs really busy, which is as it should be.

Really? I donât see it all that often, except maybe in the CBD (Starbucks etc).

Depends on where and when. Near unis, or during the leadup to exams, plenty working or studying in cafes in the inner city. I see a fair number in Richmond, Collingwood etc.
I think itâs becoming less common though simply because of the cost of living. Youâre paying at least $5 for entry and might not necessarily get a charging point even
