Starting my new job tomorrow!
But they still havenât informed me of when exactly Iâm meant to start my shit. Will have to call in and chase that up after lunch me thinks.
Thatâs so cool youâve started a new community. You should make a post from !earlychildhood@quokk.au explaining what itâs about (I know pretty self explaining really but you know) and itâll land on the homepage. If itâs just Melbourne based then post it in !melbourne@aussie.zone. Itâll still end up on the home page.

The community is showing up fine for me. There may have been a little bit of a delay if this is the first time aussie.zone users have looked at Quokk.au communities. First-time federation can take a couple of minutes.
Anyway, itâs fine, now. I didnât do anything.

Ahh - now I see what you mean. It isnât showing up in local communities because it isnât a local community. That interpretation of âlocalâ means âlocal to aussie.zoneâ, not local to Australia. As the community lives on Quokk.au, it isnât local as far as Lemmy is concerned.
!melbourne@lemmy.world exists, for example - but it wonât show up on local communities, because it lives on lemmy.world.
