I enjoy that this community could be replaced by a bot that reposts Fox News articles and nothing would change. You could even add in an automod that responds to comments with phrases like “Can you prove the article is wrong?” and “Actually it’s liberals who are racists.” for added immersion.

I love how the overlap of people dumb enough to buy into bullshit like this, but intelligent enough to both want to, and be able to figure out how to use lemmy, is you and like 3 other people.
Just puts a big smile on my face.

You have a cite to disprove the article?
gaylord_fartmaster@lemmy.world 8 months ago
There’s nothing to disprove, the article doesn’t prove those celebrities are supporting lynching.
On the other hand, I do support lynching the IDF. Preferably more along the lines of Nuremberg-style court-sentenced hangings like we did with the nazis, but I’m not picky.
wintermute_oregon@lemm.ee 8 months ago
So a symbol is celebrated, and lynching isn’t about lynching. Gotcha.
WraithGear@lemmy.world 8 months ago
So you are citing a Fox News article, so that’s -1 off the bat.
The article itself did not properly tie the celebrities to the lynching.
The article talks about how Israelis consider the pin to be associated with an event in 2002. That involved 2 victims. Which is not only a stretch, but even if it were true, still does not mean the celebrities would be in on its secret meaning.
Honestly, i feel no matter the symbol that was chosen i am sure that there would be some connection made to discredit their actual motivation, which is to pressure a cease fire. Which is objectively moral.
Also even if it was true, the assertion that wearing the pin makes one an antisemite is false because Israel is not the Jewish people. You cannot blame all Jews for the war crimes of Israel, and Israel cannot frame criticism against it as antisemitism.

Yeah, I don’t block this sub, so I see it when I scroll ‘All’ to look for new subs.
It’s always funny to see what made up shit they are outraged about today.
Then I remember they vote and it seems less funny.
wintermute_oregon@lemm.ee 8 months ago
Who’s outrage? Normally it’s the liberals are outraged. We are just having a discussion. That’s the difference. Conservatives like to have conversations, liberals like outrage.
gaylord_fartmaster@lemmy.world 8 months ago
This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. I guess you haven’t seen all the videos of conservatives having “conversations” at school board meetings, public libraries, and the schools and grocery stores they’re shooting up then.
OneWomanCreamTeam@sh.itjust.works 8 months ago
You’re seeing liberals on Lemmy? Most of the people here hate liberals almost as much as they hate conservatives.
Cheradenine@sh.itjust.works 8 months ago
Who’s outrage(d)? Normally it’s the liberals (who) are outraged. We are just having a discussion. That’s the difference.(,) Conservatives like to have conversations, liberals like outrage.
A fox news article with a twitter post as it’s main source. Do you really think a conversation about this needs to extend further than ’ I changed my meds’ or ‘the doctors said it was a tumor, but my cousin Cletus said my head was always this big’?
To generalize, as you have done, Liberals like facts and science, they do sometimes become outrage(d) when someone suggests shoving UV light up you arse to kill a virus.
wintermute_oregon@lemm.ee 8 months ago
No liberals do not like facts or science.
Nobody suggested shoving uv light up their ass
In one sentence you just dispelled your argument.
You not only ignored the science but you ignored the facts.
You do realize Trump was referencing a study going on to use UV light in the throat to kill Covid? Of course not because science and facts are things you dislike.

This is also what I do. And actually since my life is empty I love to go to groups that are diametrically opposed to what I think. I then spend time downvoting everything there and arguing with people. I recently found a group that is all about hot dogs, you know the ones that you eat. And the group is all about the various kinds and how to best cook them. But I don’t like hot dogs so I go to that group everyday and just downvote every post and comment. And then I argue with the posters there. Don’t they know that since I don’t like hot dogs that everyone who does like them must be an asshole that I have to school.
