- Comment on Trump is going to declare a national emergency and deport the illegals! Straight from the man himself. 3 days ago:
I wish they would focus on the companies and the illegal aliens. It seems weird to just focus on the people lured by work. The companies are also the villains here.

If it’s reported, I will remove it.

So you think Bernie Sanders is a liar, along with the polls?
- Comment on Trump’s gains with Latinos could reshape American politics. Democrats are struggling to respond 1 week ago:
I as Latinos realize they don’t share the same values as progressives, you’ll see more of a switch. The Latinos in my family voted Democrat because of unions. Now that the democrats have abandoned the unions, why wouldn’t they vote Republican?

If I remember correctly. W doesn’t like Trump. I think he’d get along with Vance.

they feel like they have been told to just shut up when they have complained about the things that are hurting them in their own lives.”
They were told they were racist, sexiest, garbage, etc.
The average American isn’t into gender or racial politics. They just want to raise their kids, have a vacation, etc. Most people are not overly political and when you make their life politics, they rebel

What is hysterical is Silver was telling him he was wrong and his bias was showing. That is the problem is when you let you bias influence your model.
Silver said this was a toss up. Looking at the polls before the election I would agree. Based on the results, this was not a tossup. This was Trump crushing the democrats. I am still looking at number but he appears to have grown in every state.
- Comment on PRESIDENCY, SENATE, HOUSE, AND POPULAR VOTE!!!!! 2 weeks ago:
Yes because strong and masculine men make weird rants filled with lies. That isn’t strong or masculine.
I am glad Trump won and I look forward to Elon making the government more efficient. America has spoken and loudly at that.

We do our best. Lemmy is a hive mind of silliness at times. Not sure how most of these people function outside of their bubble.
- Comment on Betting markets show Trumps's lead growing with hours to go as race goes down to the wire 2 weeks ago:
Nah they’ll just throw shit fits and riot.
I am a very mellow, middle of the road kinda guy.
Protesting an election is stupid as fuck. You vote, protesting does nothing.
Yet they had to bring out the guard here in Oregon because people will riot.
- Comment on Presidential election live updates: 'Silence' inside Harris HQ as Trump gains trigger alarm bells 2 weeks ago:
I don’t care who you vote for, but I do care that you vote. Get out and vote. Well, technically, it’s too late now, but for future elections, get out and vote. Everyone that is eligible to vote, should vote.

It’s their own fault. They bet on a lame horse. They should have pushed the democrats to run a more viable person.
It isn’t because she’s a woman or because she black or any of the other silly reasons.
She ran a shit campaign and has bad policies.
Trump should have been easy to beat. Biden was a decent candidate. Not great but decent and he beat Trump without even campaigning.
- Comment on Betting markets show Trumps's lead growing with hours to go as race goes down to the wire 2 weeks ago:
He is actually much better than I expected. It’s not over yet, but it isn’t looking good for Kamala.
They’re already saying it’s because America is racist and because she’s a woman.
The real reason is she wasn’t a good choice. She was one of the worst choices they could have picked

It’s just a tradition. People put to much weight in it.
Trump last time and conceded a few days later. He just didn’t use those exact words.
Sounds like you are into traditions. That’s very conservative of you
- Comment on Betting markets show Trumps's lead growing with hours to go as race goes down to the wire 2 weeks ago:
Historically the betting odds were fairly accurate. This year they’ve been muddled with. Trump may win but it’s not tied to the betting odds
- Comment on America locked and loaded: White House is barricaded, stores board up and there's a chilling warning as election tensions soar 2 weeks ago:
Agreed. The Democrats have always been a much more violent group.
- Comment on America locked and loaded: White House is barricaded, stores board up and there's a chilling warning as election tensions soar 2 weeks ago:
There is no requirement to concede; it’s nothing more than a tradition. Trump conceding or not conceding won’t change who wins the election.

I wish those people would move. I also wish each party had a better candidate. I am tired of each side voting against another rather than for a person.
- Comment on Steve Bannon Predicts Trump Victory 'Close to 100 Percent' 2 weeks ago:
You have to find his pre trump stuff.,
time.com/…/jd-vance-trump-business-community-sepa…
Vance is on record supporting higher taxes on corporations, advocating “no more subsidies to the anti-American business class” and declaring “it’s time America wages war on companies.”

Bannon is a fascinating man. Go read how he made his money. It’ll shock you. I’ve always found him a bit off for my taste but there is no denying he’s smart
- Comment on Young Men Could Boost Trump to Victory—if They Show Up 2 weeks ago:
I think Harris wins and I think it will be by a pretty big majority I am not certain on that. It may be possible, but Harris supporters are a pretty vocal group.
Lemmy would have a meltdown (and I’d get plenty of nasty PM’s because I’m vocal that I voted socialist, so they think my vote went to Trump), chaos in the streets, and plenty of dems would be doing EXACTLY what they accuse the Republicans doing–claiming the election was stolen.
They claimed it was stolen in 2016. I never bought either, and there was some smoke but not a lot of evidence of fraud in 2020.
I do expect chaos in the streets and some riots if Trump wins. Several states believe so as well since they activated the guard.
We will have a good idea of how it went on Tuesday but nothing official for a few days.
If Trump does win, Lemmy and Reddit will have a meltdown like few has seen before.
The only reason I think Trump is going to win is that Harris is such a bad candidate. I think they would have won easily if they had run anyone else, even Biden. If Biden has skipped the debate, he would be the next president in my opinion.
- Comment on Young Men Could Boost Trump to Victory—if They Show Up 2 weeks ago:
I am not sure who will win the election yet. It is very close in the polls. Had Harris been a better candidate and ran a better campaign, I think she would have easily beat Trump. While I am a Republican, I don’t like Trump all that much. I don’t really see Trump as a true Republican but I was happy with his time in office.
I am hoping the Republicans can more moderate socially. That is my big issue with the party currently. Abortion should be legal and available to people who want to have an abortion, as it’s none of my business what they do with their bodies. Most Americans feel the same way, but the party has gone far right on abortion.I am hoping Trump wins, and then Vance is about to become president, running on HIS OWN platform. If you haven’t read his true platform, he is very pro-working class. Not sure many Republicans would vote for him if they knew how left he was on corporations.
- Comment on November Surprise: RFK Jr., Jill Stein, Chase Oliver poised to shake up presidential results 2 weeks ago:
JFK should have been dropped from the ballots. Jill Stein has been running a long time it seems. They ran Jello before which I found interesting. I don’t see the green party being viable anytime soon. I don’t think most people even know the party is out there. It has been one I tracked for awhile and I would vote for Green over Democrat any day.
