But yes, that would be incredibly stupid.

Ideally hearing stories is a way of experiencing them. And trying to make sure the people hearing the story understand is faults is a way of telling them not to make the same mistakes as in the story.
That’s how it worked for thousands of years until movies and TV.
If you’re just being pedemic about it though, then no there isn’t any story that’s going have it’s intended effect.
