Round about menopause I gave up on womenās antiperspirants. I now get the Aldi mens 48 hour sport one. Effective, not highly perfumed, dries quickly and doesnāt irritate me except for the day after shaving the pits. So I go without deo on that day and most weekends.
You have to remember that itās not the armpit that smells as such, itās the accumulated dead bacteria that clings to the hairs/skin folds. Daily wash with soap is essential, but deo as such may not be. I really only use deo on work days where I wonāt be able to wash if I get sweaty and smelly - like riding my bike to work and back.

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone āØ9ā© āØmonthsā© agoI have a real problem with deodorants but I never used to, it seems to be a recent thing (peri menopause becoming regular menopause? Itās the only thing thatās changed with me). All those ānaturalā deodorants (think Sukin, body shop etc) give me a rash or something that looks like a horrible graze. The Nivea one Iām using is ok but it smells like Iām being smacked in the head with a toilet cleaner. The Dove roll ons are okay but they donāt seem to be long lasting. Let me know what youāve found!

I go without on weekends too, unless Iām doing something. Funnily enough Iāve found the mens deos are usually ok, although some of them smell like slightly masculine fly sprayšbut Iāll definitely give ALDI a go. I have to wear for work, as my job is physical and factory is hot.

Yeah, Iāve long given up on natural deodorants. The culprit is likely bicarb soda, essential oils, or alcohol. All are irritants.
Iām currently using Mum antiperspirant which works better than other female antiperspirants and less strong smelling but still not a fan of the floral scent. Also I find ones that are good at preventing wetness are not great at preventing smell, and vice versa.
With the Rexona I ordered one of the āpureā (which still has fragrance) and one of the menās scent to letās see whether theyāre any good.

Such as shame as the natural ones smell so beautiful. Some of the mens ones Iāve tried arenāt too bad. I also have this thing where, when I first start using a product, I think āthat smells good, thatāll doā but by the time Iām 3/4 of the way through I physically canāt stand the smell and want to throw it off a cliff and never smell it again!
