I support your point about letting people like what they like, but I’ve never had a red delicious that doesn’t taste like cardboard.
Also if you’re not really into sweeter things in general, the apple that fits that palate is probably either fuji or mac.

I’ve never been able eat anything other than a red delicious because that anf granny Smith (which goes in pies), are the only varieties available to me. ;(
