The point of sumo wrestlers being fat is to have enough mass so they don’t get pushed off the ring. It’s basically an evolutionary adaptation to the constraints imposed by the sport. I don’t know if they do weight classes there but regardless the slim sumo wrestler will always lose against the fat one.
