Not to mention the adoptive parents didn’t seem quite as equipped to handle a child of another species. That said, Rugal was lucky to have so many people who loved him.
And the birth father seemed like a genuinely loving person, not some monster.

Yeah, the episode goes out of its way to establish that both families are very well-intentioned.
